If your little one loves a look that oozes attitude, it’s time to kick the pastel palette and floral prints and opt for punk revival which is back just in time for summer. Taking inspiration from the ‘anti-fashion’ movement of the 90’s grunge period, choose daring trends that fit so well with the ‘teenage kicks’ vibe! From nu-rave neon, studs, embroidered patches, ripped elements and more, we discover the world of fearless fashion for your boys and girls below...
For girls, Fracomina Spring/Summer ‘16 brings us a few brilliant pieces that capture the alternative fashion of the 90’s perfectly. Let her rock in Fracomina’s white ripped jeans with turn up cuffs, or stand out in black waistcoat from the collection which is adorned with an array of fringing and studs for a punk statement look. Say hello to nu-rave details with Relish, embellishing a basic black t-shirt with a splash of glitter neon logo patches. We also love the pleated t-shirt dress from Relish's collection, in a perfect loose fitting style with all over studded beading. No added sugar uses thick black and neon striped cuffs and hem to add an edgy look to their baby pink jumper, add skinny denim jeans for a fabulously punky day time style! No outfit would be complete without Dr Martens boots on the feet, our favourite pair are lace up in black with amazing contrast flashes of printed colour.
For boys, thick black graphic prints help to add attitude to his clothes. Choose a classic Burberry shirt in yellow, the contrasting thick black check print will make him stand out of the crowd. Little Marc Jacobs also uses bright colour for an alternative nu-rave look, with vintage looking printed cap pattern. Karl Lagerfeld's cool collection of t-shirts, in his signature monochrome colour palette, are great for a bold look he will love. We particularly like this one from his collection shown below, with rock 'n' roll guitar illustration to the front. The little details make a big impact, adding a striking metal buckle belt in stripes of black and red will accessorize a plain pair of dark denim jeans from Gucci perfectly. Not forgetting a pair of all star Converse, which will punk up any outfit!
